FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer 24/7 high-attention support, daily activities, nutritional wellness, and advanced health monitoring tailored to each resident's needs.

  • Yes. We are fully licensed by the California Department of Social Services (CCL) and maintain comprehensive insurance. We strictly follow Title 22 regulations to ensure every aspect of our operation meets or exceeds state standards.

  • Yes. We have specifically renovated Cedar & Stone with accessibility in mind, including an entrance ramp, widened doorways, and a specialized roll-in shower to ensure that residents with limited mobility can maintain their hygiene with safety and dignity.

  • Yes, we provide three nutritious, home-cooked meals daily, tailored to meet personal dietary needs.

  • Cedar & Stone is a private-pay residential care home and does not directly accept Medi-Cal or Medicare as a primary form of payment.

Because we offer a highly personalized, boutique environment with 100% private rooms and a high staff-to-resident ratio, our rates are set to support this premium level of care. While government programs often cover shared rooms in larger institutional settings, our "Private Pay" model allows us to maintain the high standards of dining, design, and dedicated 24/7 attention that our families expect.

    How we can still help:

Long-Term Care Insurance: We are happy to provide the necessary documentation to help you receive reimbursements from your private long-term care insurance policy.

Veterans Benefits: If the resident is a veteran or a surviving spouse, they may be eligible for the "Aid & Attendance" benefit, which can significantly help cover private-pay costs.

  • Absolutely! You can click here to schedule a private visit through our website to explore our spaces and services.

  • We are currently in the process of obtaining our Hospice Care Waiver. Our goal is to support "aging in place," allowing our residents to stay in their private rooms through all stages of life. While we wait for this final state approval, we would be happy to discuss our timeline with you and how we plan to coordinate with hospice agencies in the future.

  • For the safety and security of our residents, our staff-led outdoor activities take place within our private, secure backyard. This allows everyone to enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and gardening in a protected environment without the safety risks of the open neighborhood.

However, we fully welcome and encourage family-led outings! If a family member or authorized representative wishes to take their loved one for a walk in the neighborhood or out for a meal, you are more than welcome to do so. We simply ask that you sign them out and coordinate with our staff so we can help them get ready for their adventure.

  • Yes. We take great pride in our dining. We understand that "home" is often defined by the food we eat, so we work closely with families to incorporate familiar cultural dishes and flavors into our weekly menu.

  • Absolutely. We offer healthy snacks, tea, and hydration throughout the day. We believe small moments of refreshment are key to a resident's daily happiness.

  • We are licensed for both non-ambulatory and bedridden care. Our goal is for Cedar & Stone to be a "forever home." Unless a resident requires intensive, 24/7 skilled nursing (like a hospital setting), we are equipped to adjust our care level so they can stay in their private room.

  • We require a 30-day written notice for a planned move-out. This standard period allows us to assist with the transition and handle the necessary administrative closing of the resident's file.

However, we understand that senior care can be unpredictable. If a move-out is required due to a sudden change in health status that requires a higher level of medical care (such as a skilled nursing facility), we will work closely with the family to accommodate the transition as smoothly as possible.

  • Our visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. To ensure the privacy and rest of all our residents, we ask that guests arrive and depart within this window. This helps us maintain a peaceful environment and honors everyone's nighttime routines.

If you would like to visit outside of these hours, we kindly ask that you coordinate with our administrator in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

  • Safety is our "Stone" foundation. We provide comprehensive medication assistance, including storage, reminders, and administration, all tracked via professional health management protocols to ensure total accuracy.

  • Our facility is licensed for both non-ambulatory and bedridden residents. Our staff is trained in professional health management and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring that as a resident’s needs evolve, their quality of care remains seamless.

  • Definitely! While our rooms are thoughtfully designed with senior-safe, stylish furnishings, we highly encourage residents to bring personal items, photos, or a favorite chair to make their space truly feel like home.

  • Yes, every resident at Cedar & Stone enjoys the dignity and comfort of a 100% private room. We believe that true quality of life begins with a space of one’s own. Unlike larger facilities that often utilize semi-private or shared accommodations, our boutique 6-bed home is designed so that every resident has their own personal sanctuary.
